Pet love gone viral

Scrolling through Twitter or Instagram and you see a dog. Double-tap, like! Keep scrolling, it’s a kitten in a top hat. Double-tap, like! Scroll, scroll, scroll, it’s a boxer skateboarding. Quote retweet, “OMG I can’t even do this. So cute!!!!” If you are a cat, dog, or even a raccoon lover there are plenty of accounts out there for you to fawn over.

Grumpy Cat might have been one of the first pets to be posted about (@RealGrumpyCat). Her owner started posting nearly four years ago and it has gone viral. Over the four years, there have been thousands of memes, tons of merchandise, and 1.8 million followers in love with her sass and grouchiness.

The complete opposite of Grumpy Cat is goofy and joyful Marnie the Dog (@MarnietheDog). She was adopted at 11 years old and can never keep her tongue in her mouth. Marnie brings light to her 2 million followers. She travels across the world to stick her tongue out at different types of people, making them laugh and grin.

Another extremely cute and popular one is Doug the Pug (@itsdougthepug). His owner dresses him up in funny and pop-culture costumes. When Stranger Things came out, a parody video called ‘Stranger Pugs’ was released. Doug was dressed up like Eleven and the rest of the characters. There are plenty more videos just like that and they are equally hilarious and adorable.

If you thought there were just dog and cat accounts, think again. Pumpkin the Raccoon is a rescued Bahamian raccoon who is verified on Instagram (@pumpkintheraccoon). She hangs out with her dog friends, eats watermelon, and loves back scratches. Pumpkin is possibly the cutest raccoon on social media.

Simply creating an account for your dog, cat, raccoon, lizard or whatever animal you have, can make your adorable little pet famous. Instead of it being someone else posting their pet, share what crazy things yours does, or dress them up in funny costumes.  Spread the love you have for your pets with the whole world.
