Girl’s lacrosse is coming back for their 3x district win this 2024-25 season. Right as football wraps up their season, lacrosse jumps into theirs. girls’ and boys’ lacrosse teams have been working four days a week in their pre-season to be sure they come out with a state win this season. On Mondays and Wednesdays, you will see the girls in the gym weightlifting. Tuesdays and Thursdays you will see them on the fields running intervals. This prepares them for their long weeks in season. In season, their weeks consist of practice six days a week. Not to mention, right in the middle of their season they often have games three days a week! The girls show intensity and fortitude on the field, which you can truly see translate to real game time. The science behind training is quite interesting. For example, a fitness health article states, “Pre-season training prepares your body and mind for the physical demands of the upcoming season or challenge. It is not just about getting back into shape; it is about building the strength, endurance, and mental resilience needed to perform at your best when it matters most.” This explains why coaches find it so important to train day in and day out, even postseason.
