The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is the sequel to the critically acclaimed The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, which was a launch title for the Nintendo Switch while also releasing on the last generation Nintendo console, the Nintendo Wii U. Tears of the Kingdom is the first game by Nintendo to release for $69.99 instead of $59.99, which is the normal price for most big games on the Nintendo Switch.

Tears Of The Kingdom takes place in the same world as Breath Of The Wild, continuing the story after the previous game. The world has been recovering and rebuilding, and Link has a whole new set of abilities to take on the new challenges and explore the vast new environment. In a Nintendo Direct on March 28, the series producer Eiji Aonuma showed off some of the new world and features, including the Ultrahand which allows Link to fuse items together to build cars, boats, and makeshift weaponry.

With the price of the game being $69.99, which is $10 over the usual, fans have mixed feelings. On one hand, they dislike paying that much money for a game on a handheld console, especially one with the technical limitations that the Switch has. On the other hand, fans think this new price will lead developers to make higher quality games for the Switch, that way fans get their money’s worth.

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom launches on the Nintendo Switch on May 12, with a special edition Nintendo Switch OLED model themed after the game released on April 28.
