On April 11 both girls and boys track and field teams will compete in the 2017 district championship for all events.

Given Newsome’s exemplary performance in every meet this season, both teams are in good standing to place first and send several athletes to regional competition.

The boys team is hoping to continue their winning streak as they compete for their fourth consecutive district title. Team leaders such as Triston Vaira, Will Proctor, Michael Fuller, and Eddie Patten among others, are already making preparations for regional and state competitions.

The Lady Wolves are in a similar position as they compete for their third consecutive district title. Marcella Benner, Delaney Meyer, Maya James, and Juli Tragakis all hope to aid their team in obtaining this title.

Students will be cheering on the Track and Field team as they work toward bringing the title of district champs back to Newsome.
