The boys golf team won both Districts and Regionals but fell short at States. The team consisted of 10 players this year. Seniors Mark Nauert, Andrew Wally and Justin Wendling who are the captains. The team puts in a lot of work for their success, practicing for almost 3 hours Monday through Thursday. Nauert, arguably the team’s top golfer, stated that this year’s team was, “significantly more deep than last year,” which helped carry them to District and Regional championships. Every golfer was capable of having a great round and it showed on the scoreboard.

On the progress of this year’s senior group, Nauert stated, “Last year we always had just one guy that went really low, but this year all 3 seniors were basically interchangeable for the number one spot”. The players agreed that the easiest opponent was Strawberry Crest while their most difficult competition was provided by Plant.

Wendling said of the team as a whole that, “We are all good players, but at the same time we all have room for improvement.”
