“Kung Fu Panda 4” was the long-awaited sequel in the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise, and made its debut on March 8. 

   This movie was released almost a decade after its previous movie. Hearing the confirmation from DreamWorks that “Kung Fu Panda 4” would be coming out was a pleasant and shocking surprise. There were many rumors of this movie coming out ever since the third movie, but as of August 2022, the date of the movie was finally confirmed.

   The first trailer for “Kung Fu Panda 4” was released December 2023. This trailer revealed the new characters such as Awkwafina as Zhen and Viola Davis as Chameleon. This movie will be starring celebrities such as Jack Black, Bryan Cranston, and Awkwafina. The director has also confirmed that original voice actors of The Furious Five will be reprising their iconic roles. Additionally, Tai Lung, the main villain of the first “Kung Fu Panda” movie, will also be stepping into his old role.

   The plot of this movie will be about Po trying to find enlightenment and how to be a good spiritual leader of the valley of peace. However, his plan gets interrupted by Chameleon using all of Po’s old enemies against him, and she will try to kill the dragon warrior once and for all. Po will also train Zhen into becoming the new dragon warrior.

   “Kung Fu Panda 4” will be competing with “Dune: Part Two” in the box office, and both of these sequels are estimated to put up some big numbers. “Kung Fu Panda 4” is expecting to collect 45 to 50 million in its opening weekend. However, people are expecting for “Dune: Part two” to be taking over “Kung Fu Panda 4” in sales.

   “Kung Fu Panda” is a franchise loved by many, whether it is the characters or the action-packed plot, there is something for everyone to love. Hopefully, this movie receives the same love that the previous movies did and brings something new to the table whether that is for old fans or new ones.
