At times you may find yourself lonely, and bored. In these times, you may find that you have no friends. Zero, none, zip, nada. It is a bit sad when you think about it too deeply and often. So obviously you need to make friends. And the easiest way to make friends is to make friends. Tab Friends! Friends that are made of metal and plastic, they are small, compact, and you can take them anywhere. Who needs a sack of bones in a flesh suit? Not you! That is for sure.
Materials:
1 soda can tab
Assorted small and large beads
24 gauge wire(or any wire thin enough to fit through the beads, and is very bendy)
Instructions:
- Collect your materials, and place them somewhat neatly on a flat surface. Beads may not have legs, but they sure run away fast.
- Take your soda can tab, and figure out which part you want to be the top and bottom. There should be two holes, and the top one is where the head and arms will be secured. The bottom hole is where the legs will be attached.
- You can customize your tab friend however you want, and add things not presented in the materials list. Though following these directions will result in the most humanoid looking tab friend. As humanoid as it can look, being made of metal and plastic.
- Look at the beads you have and decide which ones will be the head, arms, and legs.
- Take the bead that will be the head, likely the biggest bead, and string it through the wire, loop the wire at the end, to keep the bead from falling off. And you can use this later to hook onto a keychain, for a tab friend on the go.
- Then on the other end of the wire, twist it around itself a few times, to make the neck. Then pull it through the top hole and wrap it around the edge of the hole opening. Then twist it around the neck a few times again, snip off the wire, and fold the excess into the rest of the wire. And now you have a head.
- Take the wire again, and string all the beads you want for one arm, loop the end of the wire like with the head to prevent the beads from slipping. Then attach it like with the head, by wrapping it on the side of the top hole.
- Repeat step seven for the other arm and two legs, but make the legs longer with more beads, and attach them on the bottom hole of the tab.
- And if you did everything correctly, you should have a new friend. And maybe you are still lonely and bored, but at least you created something new.
