Jordan Peele is a fairly new director to the world of horror and has already released three films that have all been above an 80 percent on rotten tomatoes. His films offer great scares but also a fair bit of symbolism under the surface.
Jordan Peele’s first film “Get Out” was released to the public in 2018 and was quickly a major hit among fans and critics. “Get Out” got four nominations and one win for best original screenplay. It also received 98 percent on rotten tomatoes and was a box office hit. This film was also praised for pointing out and tackling many issues of racism that still exist today in America.
“Us” was Jordan Peele’s second film coming out in 2019 following the success of “Get Out.” While this film had a lot less symbolism and less of a heavier script it was still terrifying and a lot of fun. This film deals with a family trying to fight and escape from doppelgangers of themselves. While this was still a good film it was less of a hit among critics and unfortunately received zero nominations in the Oscars.
The third film from Jordan Peele “Nope” was released in 2022 and starred Daniel Kaluuya, the same actor who starred in “Get Out.” In this film, the two siblings must protect their ranch from an extraterrestrial threat. This film has possibly the most symbolism out of Jordan Peele’s discography and is a thrilling ride.
What is the future of Jordan Peele though? Jordan Peele is already planning to release a fourth film and all we know is that it is going to follow his trend of horror and was planning to drop in 2024 but was unfortunately rescheduled due to the writer strikes. Hopefully this film
