If you enjoy an overly sweet but delightfully classic sugar cookie, then this recipe is for you! Easy to whip up and best served fresh and warm, these chewy sugar cookies are a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients:
2 sticks butter
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1tsp vanilla
2.5 cups all-purpose flour
1.5 tsp baking powder
0.5tsp salt
Desired sprinkles
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit.
Cream the butter and sugar for 5-7 mins or until creamy.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk the dry ingredients. Gradually mix them into the butter mixture.
Add desired sprinkles.
Refrigerate dough 4 hours or overnight to get more stable, less flattened cookies. (Optional)
Drop onto parchment lined baking sheet in tbsp sized balls about 2 in apart.
Bake for 13-15 minutes depending on desired consistency. Be sure not to overbake as the cookies stabilize and finish cooking while they sit on the tray once out of the oven. Let them sit on the tray on a cooling rack for about 10 mins or until set.
Enjoy!
