Tarantino is widely known as one of the best directors in movie history. His start in his film career was surprisingly not directing, but acting. After his acting career was not successful, he decided to switch gears and take on his directing career. He finally had the chance when he got his hands on the opportunity to direct “Reservoir Dogs.”
Tarantino was planning this movie when he was just working at a little movie shop, called Video Archives, where he was known for his film knowledge and recommendations amongst the community. This movie was really loved when it first came out, but it is not what made Tarantino what he is today.
In 1994, Tarantino dropped a blockbuster hit “Pulp fiction.” This movie put Tarantino on the map of great directors and had everyone wanting more. This movie featured a stacked cast with actors such as Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta, and Bruce Willis. This movie also built John Travolta’s career, wich that was near dead after not starring in a movie for years, into the star that he is today.
After “Pulp Fiction,” all the producers wanted him and almost needed him. Tarantino was dropping hit after hit, whether that was “Jackie Brown”, “Django Unchained”, or “Inglorious Bastards.” Many people can agree all these movies were great fun, everything you could want from a Tarantino film, almost the golden era.
In 2019, Tarantino released his most recent film, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” and this movie’s cast may be the most stacked one yet. This movie starred Leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and even Austin Butler before he starred in “Elvis.” This movie showed what early Hollywood was like and put up great box office numbers. Tarantino said this was even the best movie he has directed.
Tarantino has not released any movie since “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” but he has confirmed he will be releasing one more movie and that is called, “The Film Critic,” which is set in the early 1970s with a female lead. This will be Tarantino’s eleventh film, but he considers it his tenth because he counts the “Kill Bill” franchise as just one movie because he had to release two separate movies, volume one and volume two, to make the runtime shorter so audiences would go out and watch this movie.
Tarantino has had a great career for about ten years now, and hopefully, with “The Film Critic,” he can leave his career with more support than ever.
