Jimmy Buffet died on Friday, Sept. 1, at age 76 after a four year battle with a rare form of skin cancer according to his website. The singer was famous for singing upbeat songs about life on the shore.
Buffet was best known for his song ‘Margaritaville’- a brand that grew into restaurants, hotels, casinos, and even cruises based around the singer and his music. His fans praised him for his laid back, easy going lifestyle.
The singer had been fighting Merkel Cell Cancer while continuing to perform. It is believed it may have been a result of high sun exposure.
Residence in Key West Florida, where Buffet began his career, honored him with a festival. Buffet previously stated, “If there’s a heaven for me, I’m sure it has a beach attached to it.”
