It’s finally the end of the school year and there’s so many things you could plan like hanging out with friends, traveling, or maybe even going to a music festival. While not everyone is able to afford hundreds of dollars to travel out of state to go to big name festivals like Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo with their friends during break, there is one gathering right nearby that anyone can attend.

Once again, the Backyard Barbeque is being held once again by 97X at Vinoy Park on May 27th . The event has been running for many years, bring many alternative rock acts and local bands down to St. Pete for thousands to come down and relax near the bay all day.

This year, you can expect some great bands performing this year with headliners Grouplove, a band most known for the hit “Tongue Tied”, Milky Chance who got big from “Stolen Dance”, and singer/songwriter K.Flay who has recently been taking over the scene with “Blood In The Cut”. Other bands that will be taking the stage include The Unlikely Candidates, Magic Giant, and The Heydaze.

The event has always been something worth going to over the years with so many great band playing each year. Some of the more notable acts that played in previous years include AWOLNATION, Bastille, Twenty One Pilots, The 1975, and Panic! At The Disco,.

You can also expect tons of food from plenty of vendors to supply.

The only question left is how much are the tickets for the event? The barbecue is free to all, but only if you go to a ticket drop announced on the radio station or on their website or you can purchase a $20 ticket if you’re too lazy to go to the ticket drops.
