Spirit Week Starts…Now!

The pep rally last Friday gave students a chance to show their Newsome spirit, and they exceeded expectations.

Even the Freshmen got amped up with the help of the SGA, who organized the whole event. The whole school was in a frenzy of school spirit and Junior, Mason Coletta can testify to this, “it was successful because everyone got into it, freshmen included.”

In the future Coletta hopes to see everyone get involved in the pep rallies, and to bring everyone together with a sense of school pride. In order to do this, he believes that Newsome needs to make the pep rallies more inclusive for everyone. The pep rallies are a method through which newsome students can come together to celebrate the upcoming spirit week.

Coletta, possibly with a biased opinion, concluded that the Juniors were the loudest and most creative in their tactics; therefore, they deserved the spirit stick. Some of the most popular activities that students enjoyed were the pie in the face and the SGA dance, among other events.

Coletta assures that more preparations will be made to make the pep rallies even better. What was displayed last Friday is setting the bar high for pep rallies that are likely to surpass that margin. “We’ve only shown a few of the tricks that are up our sleeve.”

Students await the future pep rallies eagerly and everyone is now ready for Spirit Week 2015.
