Jenna Dahlin wowed the crowd at Newsome Idol,  taking home first place with Mikayla Anderson close  behind. The night was filled with tons of talent and emotion.

The stage was filled with a vast amount of talent, every single one of the contestants having a very unique, beautiful voice. Some of the contestants that caught both the attention of the crowd and the eye of the judges were Victoria Chattin, Mikayla Anderson, and of course first place winner Jenna Dahlin.

All three girls had outstanding performances.  All these young singers’ voices brought chills to the crowd with their power and great personality. All the contestants chose songs that had a deep meaning to them and they sung each and every one of these songs with tons of passion and emotion; when they were singing you weren’t just listening to a song, you were listening to a story.

The judges loved Jenna’s first performance when she sung ‘Wide Open Spaces’ by The Dixie Chicks. You could see her telling a story of her country background and making a great connection with the crowd.

Mikayla wowed the audience in the second round receiving a standing ovation from the entire crowd including the judges. She had an amazing connection with the audience as well, maintaining eye contact and owning the stage the entire time  while singing  ‘New York State Of Mind’ by Billy Joel.

Victoria had an  amazing performance both rounds astonishing the crowd with her very cool and calm vibe.

Newsome Idol is a great fundraiser that helps the chorus program and all the contestants prepared competed very well.  This marks another successful Newsome Idol event in the books.
