Concerts: a gift that will last forever

The most amazing gifts are not always the material ones, but the memories shared with friends, family, and loved ones. Music is one of the many ways to connect with the people and even meet some more people with commonalities.

The holidays are right around the corner and last minute gifts are always the hardest to find, but concerts are normally always a great idea. Florida has a wide range of artists that come each and every year with so much to choose from.

For a short ride to St.Pete at the Jannus Live, “Death Cab for Cutie” is playing Jan 31. This alternative rock band is known for many songs but their most famous has to be “I will follow you into the dark”. Along with them the “Dropkick Murphys,” an Irish punk band, will be performing March 4. This show is not for the weak and will get bloody, so purchase with caution and keep that in mind.

In Orlando at the Amway center, Blake Shelton will also be performing March 4. Shelton is a well known country music singer who is married to Gwen Stefani, and was also a judge alongside Stefani on “The Voice” for many years. June 13 the Amway is welcoming Paramore on stage. Lead singer Hayley Williams, known best for her bright orange hair and projection lungs, has had many hits, including, “Misery business”, “Ain’t it fun,” and “Still into you.”

So many more large and smaller artists are going to be playing in our area with this just being the tip of the iceberg. Along with concerts, many comedians such as Bert Kreischer will be in the area after the holiday season.

Events like these are a great way to bring the community and loved ones together, try new things, and create lasting bonds and friendships.

Many ticket providers such as Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and Live Nation will all have lists of upcoming events, but don’t forget to check facebook for pop up events in the area.
