Newsome Boys await their race at the starting line

“The performance was exceptional” said junior David Brickhouse, who competed in the 1600 meter run alongside numerous other leaders in this meet. The boys were able to obtain a landslide win over their competitors -East Bay and Strawberry Crest- by earning 166 points, leaving runner- up Strawberry Crest with a mere 33 points. The results of the meet set a promising tone for the rest of the season, and Brickhouse agrees “I think we are going to do great things.”

The girls team was also able to showcase their talent by obtaining 74 points, earning them another first place win for the season. Katie Dunn stated, ” we all gave everything we had and left it on the track.” The team also shows immense promise for the rest of their season, given their strong win in this meet.
