Romo or Prescott?

The Dallas Cowboys appeared to be entering disaster when starting quarterback Tony Romo broke his back in a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks costing him six to ten weeks. Rookie Dak Prescott took over from there finishing up the preseason impressively going 39-50 for 454 yards to go along with seven total touchdowns and no interceptions.

Although Prescott lost his first regular season start to the New York Giants, he has been outstanding in each of his six starts throwing for at least 200 yards in each contest and recording ten total touchdowns. Prescott didn’t throw an interception until his sixth game.

With a potent offensive attack made up of rookie running back Ezekiel Elliot and Prescott under center, the Cowboys are rolling on all cylinders and currently sitting with a 5-1 record good for first in the NFC east.

With all the momentum right now and Tony Romo becoming healthy, the big question comes in of whether to ride the hot rookie in Prescott, or insert your 10-year veteran, Romo, back into the lineup. Romo has proved injury prone over the course of his career following a successful 2014 season up with an injury-riddled 2015 campaign.

On the other hand, Prescott had very seldom seen a snap in a pro-style offense before coming to the NFL. With the way he’s playing so far this season, it might be hard to tell he’s new to the Dallas system.

It will be a tough decision for owner Jerry Jones and the rest of the staff and Dallas does face tougher competition down the stretch of the season as they face teams like the Vikings, Eagles, and Steelers.
